IMPROVED ACTIVE FILTER PERFORMANCE IN SINGLE-PHASE CONTROLLED RECTIFIERS WITH PULSE WIDTH MODULATION (PWM) CONTROL

Various commutation techniques, such as forced commutation, ignition angle control, and symmetrical have been developed to improve the input power factor harmonic level. However, all of these techniques will produce only one pulse per half cycle converter current, consequently, lowest order is third harmonic. A comparative study active filter converters between single PWM control has investigated. Both are given identical R RL loads compare (PF) Total Harmonic Distortion (THD). The method used a simulation with PSPICE program. performance both rectifiers evaluated based on current waveform, THD, PF. At load, distortion decreases drastically, THD 100.67%. In harmonics reduced 25.48%. rectifier in obtained PF 0.25, whereas increased by 0.65.
